In May 2015, 2016 and 2018 the Fields of Honor Foundation organized the tribute project 'The Faces of Margraten'.
During the Dutch 'commemorative week' (Remembrance Day on the 4th of May and Liberation Day on the 5th) these projects of our Foundation endeavors to add 'faces to names' displaying photographs of those killed or missing next to their graves or at the Walls of the Missing.
Over the years our volunteers have gradually found additional photographs for our honor project. The subtitles of our PR leaflets show the numbers: 2015; "more than 3.000". 2016; "more than 4.000" and 2018; "more than 5.750".
At this moment we have acquired nearly 9.000 photographs of the 10.023 men and women buried or commemorated on the Netherlands American Cemetery & Memorial.
Can you contribute photographs to our Margraten project or other cemeteries? Do please contact our Foundation!

Following the above mentioned project our Foundation decided to publish a book about 'our liberators' and in 2020 a Dutch language book with the title 'De gezichten van Margraten. Zij bleven voor altijd jong' ('The Faces of Margraten. They Will Remain Forever Young'. Authors: Jori Videc, Sebastiaan Vonk and Arie-Jan van Hees.
