Target: Chateau De Ribeaucourt, France. Shot down by German night fighters. Crashed at Talmas, 11 miles north of Amiens, France.

2Lt Loomis is commemorated on the Ardennes Cemetery Tablets of the Missing.

1st Lieutenant Joseph P. LAWINSKI

From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

 

Killed in Action 12th April 1944 as bombardier of B-17G / #42-38210.

Target: the Fishamend Mark aircraft factory, near Vienna, Austria.

Flak hit the #3 main fuel tank and flames quickly enveloped the aircraft which exploded in mid-air. Crashed 3 kilometers south-east of Zwölfaxing airfield.

6 KIA / 4 POW. MACR 3955.
