Killed on a non operational flight (KNO) as co-pilot of C-47A / #43-15131. 

Returning to Advanced Landing Ground A-70 from a freight hauling mission to Y-29 (Asch airfield, Belgium) this C-47 was involved in a mid-air collision with #43-15122.

'122' landed safely but the right wing of '131' broke off near the landing light sending the aircraft into a spin. Crashed near Sivry-Rance, Belgium.

6 KNO (Killed on Non Operational flight). MACR 10687.

Killed on an Operational Mission (KOM) as pilot of P-47D / #42-26345 / E4-? .

Returning from the mission and while in the landing circuit of Advanced Landing Ground   A-82 Etain, France, this P-47 collided in mid-air with #42-28626. 

#42-26345 crashed and Lieutenant Gurganus was killed in the crash near Rouvres.
