Sortie: bomber escort to Magdeburg, Germany.
Damaged in a dogfight the aircraft crashed at Ottensen, north-east of Buxtehude, Germany. MACR 7425.
Lt Moore is buried at Ardennes Cemetery B-34-50. Also see

2nd Lieutenant James L. LOVELACE
From Jackson, Mississippi.
Killed in Action 5th July 1944 as co-pilot of B-24H / #42-95317 / 'B'.
While on a nightly 'Carpetbeggar' mission to resupply the French Maquis this aircraft was shot down by a ME-110 night fighter south of Paris. The tail gunner was killed in the aircraft. The crew was ordered to bale out.
The aircraft crashed near Autry-sur-Juine, 30 miles south-east of Chartres, France.
2 KIA / 1 POW / 5 EVD. MACR 6989.
Regrettably 2Lt Lovelace's parachute failed to open.

Took off from Venesa airfield, Italy. Target: the Florisdorf oil refinery, Vienna, Austria.
Hit by flak the aircraft caught fire and crashed near Gerasdorf, Austria. 6 KIA / 4 POW. MACR 6587.

Target: V-weapon site Belloy-sur-Somme, France. Hit by flak, crashed 1,5 mile east of Siracourt, 2 miles west of St.Pol-sur-Ternoise, France. 6 KIA / 3 POW. MACR 6770.
2Lt Matika is buried at Normandy Cemetery, D-8-33.

While on a bombing / strafing sortie in the Le Mans-Tours area shot down by a FW-190. Crashed at Blanchelande - Montmerrei, France. MACR 6654.

Target: Rostock, Germany. Attacked by four FW-190's shortly after bombs-away damaging the vertical stabilizer. Crashed into the Baltic Sea. 7 MIA / 3 KIA. MACR 3774.
2Lt Pennal is commemorated on the Cambridge Cemetery Tablets of the Missing.
