Photograph #7000 was found on page 27 of Class Book Bombardier Class 43-12, Childress Army Air Field, Texas.

In June 2017 a four man team (Corrina, Willem, Ria and Arie-Jan) of the Fields of Honor Foundation started indexing Cadet Class Books which were sourced from Mr. Mike Voisin's WWII Army Air Force Collection amazing website https://aafcollection.com/

The photographs found relating to the Cemeteries of Margraten (NL), Ardennes (B), Henri Chapelle (B), Luxembourg (Lux), Epinal (F) and Lorraine (F) are shared on several Facebook pages i.e. websites pages like

'The Faces of Margraten'  https://www.degezichtenvanmargraten.nl/index.php/en-us/ and

the 'Fields of Honor Database' https://www.fieldsofhonor-database.com/index.php/en/

Additional photographs of air crew KIA / MIA and buried on ABMC cemeteries are also shared with similar projects in Normandy and Brittany (France) and Cambridge (UK) ('The Faces of Cambridge).

Class Book #0001 was indexed on 12th June 2017 and milestones were reached in May 2019 (250 Class Books indexed), April 2021 (500 Class Books indexed) and November 2022 (125.000 names/photographs indexed).

Since September 2023 the indexing is done solely by the moderator of this website.

The survey on the right shows the following info:

-indexed class book sequence number,

-class book year and class,

-indication pilot (P), bombardier (B) or navigator (N) class book,

-name of the training location and state,

-initials of the individual who indexed the class book,

-date of final indexing and publication of photographs,

-total number of names/photographs found in class book

-number of KIA/MIA (ABMC cemeteries) photographs in class book,

-number of photographs found relating to the ABMC cemeteries of Margraten, Ardennes, Henri Chapelle, Luxembourg, Epinal and Lorraine (abbreviated MAHLEL)

The survey on the left shows the subtotals of photographs found in the indexed class books and which are relating to the specific ABMC cemeteries.

Marked in green are the cemeteries on which our Foundation Fields of Honor concentrates its research: Margraten, Ardennes, Henri Chapelle, Luxembourg, Epinal and Lorraine (MAHLEL).

For these six cemeteries 2.184 photographs were contributed to 'The Faces of Margraten' and the 'Fields of Honor Database'.

Marked in yellow are the three cemeteries where 'sister projects' are helped out by supplying found photographs of air crew KIA/MIA to them as well. (1.312 photographs).

One of these projects is 'Faces of Cambridge'.

Photographs found and relating to the other ABMC cemeteries are filed in our archives and can be used for further research or reference in case we are approached by other researchers or next-of-kin.
